A professional singer for over twenty five years, I started writing my first book after I completed my world tour with Simply Red in the late nineties. Growing up in Brunei and moving to the United Kingdom in the late seventies soon after the demise of my beloved mother, gave me a lot of life experiences and material for my non-fiction and fiction books.
Even as a young child I would conjure up stories with my imagination and would keep them in my secret diary. I wasn't confident enough to share them with others but it was my escapism, my fantasy world.
I’ve developed my storytelling and writing quite a bit since then, but the essence of creativity and entertainment I began with as a kid has remained a major influence on my work and in my life journey and experiences.
I have my friends and family to thank for the continuous inspiration that they have given me.
I’ve been writing professionally since the beginning of 2017 and have no intention of slowing down anytime soon. Stories in the fiction novels and novellas under Judith James, are based on true situations and has given me the platform for expanding my imagination and storytelling skills.
'Know Your Voice, Love Your Voice', is my debut non-fiction which I started beginning of 2017 based on the methods and steps that I have used to heal my voice naturally and holistically and addressing issues that are generally misunderstood in the music profession. Ideally, singers and speakers would benefit from the tips and information, and for those recuperating from vocal surgery. Other books in the non-fiction category include the dol's Kitchen series, a three-book series covering featured dishes that I have tasted and recreated from my travels as a professional singer. 'The One I Love', is a personal recollection of my faith and spirituality that has seen me through my darkest hours to joyous times in my life's journey to this current day and is dedicated to my late mother. Another book is in the process which is about self-awareness and in life betterment strategies entitled, 'What I have become'.
I am also a member of the Leeds Drama Workshop and occasionally would submit a short extract of my stories for our workshop performances.
